If you’re the kind of urbanite who gets his inspiration from modern art, you’re in for a treat with the opening of the K11 Art & Culture Centre in Hong Kong’s Tsim Sha Tsui.
Art isn’t for everyone, but to its many followed, the various schools, styles, and mediums of art – both classical and contemporary – tap into our emotions, liberate our thoughts, challenge our conventions, and generally elevate the way we look at the world.

An inspiring museum-like escape complete with a sun-kissed sculpture garden, K11 Art & Cultural Centre is a new showcase of over 40 pieces of international art from artists like Mary Weatherford, Yayoi Kusama, Katharina Grosse, and Erwin Wurm.
Located on the 6th floor of K11 MUSEA, the new 105,000sqft space, the centre features a collection curated to reflect the city’s waterfront culture and represents the fluid exchange of ideas in a multicultural, multilingual society like Hong Kong. Mirroring this seamless conversation of the arts into the architectural design, the centre’s façade, made up of more than 300 glass cylinders, invites fluid exploration between indoor and outdoor spaces.

More than just another exhibition space, the K11 Art & Culture Centre’s pieces run through the K11 ‘gourmet chamber’, home to COUCOU Reserve, Fine Wine Experience, Sushi Wadatsumi, TeaMiTea, and newly-opened restaurant Cobo House, and outside to the harbourside Sculpture Park, where pieces like Erwin Wurm’s pink-hued Half Big Suit (above); and Tatiana Trouvé’s dramatic Refolding capture the imagination.
